R&R Revival and Revolt

The Tea Party’s Strange Bedfellows and What They Believe
By Dr. Orrel Steinkamp

“We have sinned… in every sphere of influence…. But there is a remnant…. And if you’re looking… look no further. We will be there at the Lincoln Memorial. And that’s the kind of thing that will touch God’s heart….”

-Janet (Folger) Porter[1]

[NOTE: For important background information on this article, read “The Coalescing of the Christian Right with Apostolic Dominionism” by Dr. Orrel Steinkamp, posted on Herescope, 4/8/10 here.]

Initially The Tea Party was populist, libertarian, limited government, anti-socialism and lower taxes, etc. But the first ever National Tea Party Conference in Nashville in February revealed that there has always been an overlap with Christian Right social issues. The Tea Party movement is in danger of being co-opted by the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) and its radical agenda. Do the Tea Party folks realize what they are getting into?

Three very prominent Christian Right activists were not only invited to Nashville but had a very public presence. Rick Scarborough, former Southern Baptist minister and founder of the Texas-based Vision America,[2] who also is on the committee for the upcoming May Day event,[3] went to the conference with the purpose to unite the Christian Right with the Tea Party movement. Judge Roy Moore, who gained fame when he was removed from the bench for posting the Ten Commandments in his courthouse, and Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily were also invited speakers. Jonathon Kay, a critic[4] who covered the National Tea Party Convention, reported:

I think the one thing that really did surprise me was the high level of explicitly Christian social conservatism on display here. One of the “breakout sessions” featured a speech from Pastor Rick Scarborough — who is most famous for trying to get America’s preachers more politicized. (“I’m not a Republican. I’m not a Democrat. I’m a Christocrat.”[5]) After his speech, a middle-aged female delegate with a twang stood up and said, during the Q&A, “All the media types are asking us why we’re here. Here’s what I say. We’re all here for a little R&R — revival and revolt. If you’re not a Christian, and a person of faith, you just can’t understand what we’re doing!!” She got a standing ovation.

That same evening Joseph Farah, the Christian conspiracy expert extraordinaire, also underscored the Christian identity of the Tea Party. (For my part this rings true, for in my little town I attended a Tea Party recently and everyone there was a Christian because I knew them all.) Farah’s remarks about Christians taking over the cultural institutions of society sounded very like the 7 Mountain Mandate of the New Apostolic Reformation which is about taking over the governments, economies, and social systems of our nation and the rest of the world. The LA Times reported on Farah’s remarks at the Tea Party Convention:Farah went on to urge tea party activists to think beyond winning congressional elections in November and “take over not only the political institutions, but the cultural institutions, like the press, the entertainment industry, the universities, and yes the churches.”[6]

Shortly after the Tea Party Convention Rick Scarborough launched his own Religious Right version of the Tea Party Movement,[7] changing the Tea Party’s “Taxed Enough Already” acronym to “Truth Exalts America.” He also used the Tea Party convention to unveil something he is calling the “‘Patriot Pastors’ Tea Party.” [8] This is a national call to pastors to come to San Antonio, on July 7. This will be held at the 7th largest city in America on the 7th day of the 7th month for 7 hours at the plaza of the Alamo. (Apparently Scarborough has copied the NAR for esoteric numerical symbolism.) Scarborough asserts that there are 7000 pastors who haven’t “bowed the knee to Baal” and calls for these pastors to use the next 17 weeks leading up to Election Day to “work towards national revival” and to go on a “seven day chosen fast.”[9] This focus on the number seven is connected to the 7 mountains (“spheres”) agenda to take over culture. Scarborough is very connected to this Dominionist agenda.[10]

Scarborough’s National Patriot Pastors’ Tea Party is being billed as:

A Call for Pastors to Seek Revival and National Renewal Truth Exalts America!! Pastors join with us in weekly calls with some of America’s leading Christian Patriots like David Barton, Mat Staver and Bill Federer to grow together and pray together with the goal of meeting in San Antonio for a Pastor’s T.E.A. Party. The acronym stands for Truth Exalts America as Proverbs 13:24 declares “Truth exalteth a nation, but righteousness is a reproach to any people.” America was born as a result of the Great Awakening which united the Colonies as “One Nation Under God.” That great revival led to the leadership of Patriot Pastors in the 1750’s through 1770’s who boldly declared “liberty from tyranny” and “we have no king, but king Jesus” in their pulpits.[11]

The Tactical Goals of the NAR

As stated in my previous article,[12] C. Peter Wagner, chief “apostle” of the New Apostolic Reformation, made a decision some time ago to try to integrate his Dominion Mandate into a democracy paradigm. That was a tactical decision. But Wagner’s strategic goal remains unchanged. The tactical plan is to infiltrate in order to dominate.

The upcoming MAY DAY mainstream evangelical rally at nation saving at the Lincoln Memorial the NAR represents a major tactical coup for the NAR by selling the 7 mountain scheme of dominion to the broader Conservative and Evangelical Right. Even more significantly a number of the NAR’s false apostles and prophets will share the limelight with other well known Evangelical cultural warriors and gain an equal seat at the evangelical political table. As stated in my last Plumbline article,[13] this will enable the NAR to continue to build their influence nationally. This will give them a continued voice in the Christian Right and also with elected political operatives.[14]

The Newt Gingriches and Mike Huckabees may only see votes and a path to political power. But the NAR sees all this as getting people into the 7 Mountains of the culture paradigm, and can then employ spiritual warfare techniques that they have honed under the tutelage of Wagner’s Strategic Level Spiritual Warfare techniques. I wonder if the Tea Party activists are now willing to sign up for Wagner’s spiritual warfare courses?

Just the other day I listened Wagner teach about the 7 Mountain Dominionism on GodTV. The NAR will never be satisfied to become a political action committee and share power with more generic cultural warriors on the Christian Right. They want absolute control no mater how long it takes to gain apostolic control of each of the 7 mountains/spheres. They believe the powers that now control these mountains are demonic to the core. NAR Dominionists intend to confront and destroy not just the demons at the top of the 7 mountains of culture on Earth, but to destroy the related principalities and powers that are related in the heavenlies. All of this is based on a fraudulent understanding of the so called cultural mandate, based on their heretical teachings of Genesis 1:22-28 and the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.

Its unbelievable that Dominionists get their only biblical authority from just two verses in Genesis 1:28-29. Indeed the Genesis passage suggests that mankind is the highest order made in God’s image, and has been given dominion. But dominion over trees, herbs, fish, foul and animals. It does not give men dominion over men and human institutions. Dominionists have also misapplied the Great Commission and suggest that the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 is biblical authority for their dominion teaching. They suggest that “to disciple” suggests the Dominion Mandate.

But the Great Commission is to preach the Gospel of salvation, and baptize those who believe, teaching these converts to continue in the teaching of Jesus. Let’s just conclude this by saying that one can only baptize individuals and one at a time. Its pretty hard to baptize the media and government institutions. These few truths seem to fell the giant of the so called Dominion Mandate.

The Truth

“What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him? For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.” (Psalm 8:4-8)

What the First Reformation taught about man’s dominion over the Earth differs considerably from what the New Apostolic Reformation is teaching. Matthew Henry’s Commentary on these verses explains the traditional Christian view of dominion:

(2.) [Man] is endued with noble faculties and capacities: Thou hast crowned him with glory and honour. He that gave him his being has distinguished him, and qualified him for a dominion over the inferior creatures; for, having made him wiser than the beasts of the earth and the fowls of heaven (Job 35:11), he has made him fit to rule them and it is fit that they should be ruled by him. Man’s reason is his crown of glory; let him not profane that crown by disturbing the use of it nor forfeit that crown by acting contrary to its dictates. (3.) He is invested with a sovereign dominion over the inferior creatures, under God, and is constituted their lord. He that made them, and knows them, and whose own they are, has made man to have dominion over them, v. 6. His charter, by which he holds this royalty, bears equal date with his creation (Gen. 1:28) and was renewed after the flood, Gen. 9:2. God has put all things under man’s feet, that he might serve himself, not only of the labour, but of the productions and lives of the inferior creatures; they are all delivered into his hand, nay, they are all put under his feet. He specifies some of the inferior animals (v. 7, 8), not only sheep and oxen, which man takes care of and provides for, but the beasts of the field, as well as those of the flood, yea, and those creatures which are most at a distance from man, as the fowl of the air, yea, and the fish of the sea, which live in another element and pass unseen through the paths of the seas. Man has arts to take these; though many of them are much stronger and many of them much swifter than he, yet, one way or other, he is too hard for them, Jam. 3:7. Every kind of beasts, and birds, and things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed. He has likewise liberty to use them as he has occasion. Rise, Peter, kill and eat, Acts 10:13. Every time we partake of fish or of fowl we realize this dominion which man has over the works of God’s hands; and this is a reason for our subjection to God, our chief Lord, and to his dominion over us.

Self Empowerment

Posted by susanb99 on March 27, 2009

Self Empowerment
by Susan Bertalotto
March 2009

Self Empowerment is a buzz-word that has been used to teach people to increase their self-image and be more assertive in daily life. The premise is the process of finding the resourcefulness inside an individual which translates into a stronger, worthier, more confident person.

The Bible refers to Self Empowerment in these scriptures:

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Mark 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

1st Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

SELF Empowerment is not in the Bible, other than as works of the flesh. Then why are “Christian” organizations and individuals promoting it as though it was a fruit of the Spirit of God, and not solely the wisdom of man?

One reason is Love of Money (1st Timothy 6:10). There is much money to be made in enabling people (mostly women) to excel above others, to be ambitious in their spirituality (emulation-a work of the flesh-Galatians 5:19-21). It’s much cheaper (and doctrinally sound) to go with what Jesus said “…let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

Another reason is Power. On this page at reference.com, it is stated (bold added):

The term Human Empowerment covers a vast landscape of meanings, interpretations, definitions and disciplines ranging from psychology and philosophy to the highly commercialized Self-Help industry and Motivational sciences.

[…]

The process which enables one to gain power, authority and influence over others, institutions or society. Empowerment is probably the totality of the following or similar capabilities:-

  • Having decision-making power of one’s own
  • Having access to information and resources for taking proper decision
  • Having a range of options from which you can make choices (not just yes/no, either/or.)
  • Ability to exercise assertiveness in collective decision making
  • Having positive thinking on the ability to make change
  • Ability to learn skills for improving one’s personal or group power.
  • Ability to change others’ perceptions by democratic means.
  • Involving in the growth process and changes that is never-ending and self-initiated
  • Increasing one’s positive self-image and overcoming stigma
  • Increasing one’s ability in discreet thinking to sort out right and wrong

The power of God is not what the Self-Help industry is selling. As I stated in the article Metaphysics and Jesus Christ:

If there isn’t any money to be made, then what would be the point? Notice that all the proponents of metaphysics will take a concept, create a process of implementation, and SELL it. Jesus Christ can not be sold! Therefore, you won’t find anyone who is selling the real salvation of man. Metaphysics proponents are working very hard to present a facsimile, a substitute, that unsuspecting, undiscerning people will buy, or buy into.

Here are some buzz-words/phrases that go along with Self Empowerment:

self-image
self-esteem
find your destiny/identity
discover your God-given gifts
be a champion
we are little gods
recognize your potential
live your dream
live the dream God has for you
poverty is of the devil
realize the power inside you
discover how to dig down deep and “grab” your determination
transformation is the key to a better life in God

This instruction erroneously teaches that we choose what our destiny will be based on the world’s perception of greatness, positive image, comfort, and power — based on metaphysics, an occult/New Age concept of controlling ourSELVES and the world WITHOUT Jesus Christ. Self Empowerment depends on humans’ efforts, not God’s power. The proponents are training undiscerning Christians a “new” unbiblical spirituality — one that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2nd Corinthians 10:5).

Don’t be deceived by Self-Empowerment and its euphemisms. Just because one feels better about one’s SELF is no reason to abandon the clear mandates in scripture.

Use the Bible as your only source of information. Do not believe any doctrine or teaching that is not substantiated by the Word of God.

BLASPHEMY INCORPORATED

Terms and Catch-Phrases of the Ungodly
by Bud Press, Director

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
blaspheme
to speak irreverently of God or
sacred things; utter impieties
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thousands of years ago, Satan, a former anointed cherubim angel, was convinced he could raise his throne above the stars of God and make himself like the Most High. But his hopes of ruling over Almighty God and the universe He created was only a pipe dream. God clearly demonstrated Who was in charge and booted Satan and one-third of the angels out of heaven (Ezekiel chapter 28; Genesis chapter 3; Isaiah chapter 14; Revelation chapter 12).

Satan’s efforts to play wiser than God backfired. It was a costly decision on his part, as well as those he conned into following him. Currently, Satan roams the earth roaring like a lion seeking to kill and destroy, and is the first blasphemer recorded in God’s written word, the Bible (1 Peter 5:8; Genesis chapter 3).

But Satan’s days are numbered. His fate, and the fate of those who follow him is sealed (Revelation 20:1-10).

Throughout the ages, blasphemers have come from all walks of life, races, and religious belief systems. Although the word blasphemer brings to mind the atheist, a New Age UFO cult-leader, or a shrewd, egg-headed man in Siberia who claims to be “Jesus Christ,” oddly enough, there are blasphemers who claim to be Christian, many of whom carry Bibles in their hands.

Here is a list of what all blasphemers have in common, whether or not they claim to be Christian:

  • they mock the God of the Bible (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) and refer to God with words and actions that bring dishonor to the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.they downplay sound, Biblical theology and teachings, and twist and misinterpret Scripture to conform to their particular belief system.
  • they play wiser than God, attempt to reduce God to their human level of mentality, and believe God can be manipulated according to their own thoughts, whims, and fancies.
  • to them, God is no more than a cool dude waving a peace sign, and a fellow goatee-wearing, earring-dangling beatnik with a good sense of humor.
  • they cause doubt, and even shipwreck the faith in weak and innocent believers. They drive the unsaved further into sin and further away from Jesus Christ (i.e., If this is Christianity, I want no part of it!).
  • they are severely malnourished in God’s written word, and driven by their own feelings, emotions, and experiences.
  • they rely on “new revelations” from their corrupt leaders, and consider themselves the holiest of all. Many have been conned into believing they are “God’s chosen army” who will usher in a worldwide revival.
  • they promote each other, mimic each other, and feed off of each other’s folly. They compete with each other to see who can come up with the most outlandish, blasphemous terms and catch-phrases.
  • they condition and desensitize new recruits over a period of time to believe what they say–even over the Bible. They are the deceived leading the deceived; the manipulated leading the manipulated.
  • they push the gullible into supporting their “ministry” with financial donations and by purchasing books, videos, and DVDs–all of which fund trips around the world and expensive lifestyles.
  • they ridicule discerning Christians who reach out with correction and rebuke, and warn them to “stop attacking” and “stop judging” the anointed. Yet, they stand guilty of the very thing they accuse others of doing.
  • those who disagree with their ungodly behavior and damnable teachings are considered either sub-Christian or religious zealots, Pharisees, cultists, fear-mongers, hate-mongers, sensationalists, liars, witch hunters, heresy hunters, unsaved, and haters of Jesus Christ, who are possessed by a “religious spirit.”

but in reality, in these last days it is they who are …lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; avoid such men as these (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

What you are about to read is a list of terms and catch-phrases from the mouths and writings of blasphemers within the hyper-Charismatic movement–a movement gone wild and, perhaps in some cases, mentally disturbed (refer to the YouTube video, John Crowder: Magic Carpet Ride by VinnieActs2030).

As you read the terms and catch-phrases, if you truly believe that Jesus is your drug, the Holy Spirit is a crack pipe, the gospel is thick and juicy mud, and that the glory of God is Papa’s milky goo, be encouraged to study the following Scriptures, for they are God’s written commands and warnings to those who flippantly mock and dishonor the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in callous disrespect, dishonor, and irreverence:

You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain (Exodus 20:7).

You shall not curse God, nor curse a ruler of your people (Exodus 22:28).

You shall not swear falsely by My name, so as to profane the name of your God; I am the LORD (Leviticus 19:2).

Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? And against whom have you raised your voice, and haughtily lifted up your eyes? Against the Holy One of Israel! (2 Kings 19:22)

“Now therefore, what do I have here,” declares the LORD, “seeing that My people have been taken away without cause?” Again the LORD declares, “Those who rule over them howl, and My name is continually blasphemed all day long” (Isaiah 52:5).

“Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed Me by acting treacherously against Me” (Ezekiel 20:7).

Fools mock at sin, but among the upright there is good will (Proverbs 14:9).

For “THE NAME OF GOD IS BLASPHEMED AMONG THE GENTILES BECAUSE OF YOU,” just as it is written (Romans 2:24).

This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight, keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith. Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they will be taught not to blaspheme (1 Timothy 1:18-20).

Do they not blaspheme the fair name by which you have been called? (James 2:7)

And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven (Revelation 13:6).

Closing comments…

In what can be best described as savagery in the name of God, the above terms and catch-phrases are the product of twisted minds, and a bi-product of doctrines of demons the Apostle Paul warned about in 1 Timothy 4:1-2.

Question: Why would anyone who claims to love God turn around and mock, scorn, and blaspheme His holy and precious Name? The Bible provides the answers:

For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things (Philippians 3:18-19).

Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived (2 Timothy 3:12-13).

For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain (Titus 1:10-11).

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap (Galatians 6:7).

On the outside, the hyper-Charismatic movement is growing, and has spent years trying to convince Christians that its “apostles,” prophets, teachers, evangelists, and revivalists are legitimate and a “must have” within the body of Christ. But in the background, it has spent years producing a steady stream of male and female heretics, false prophets, and false healers.

But growth and popularity within what claims to be Christian doesn’t necessarily mean it is sanctioned by God. The hyper-Charismatic movement separated from truth and common sense many years ago. Thus, what appears to be a steady growth and popularity is, in reality, a steady decline and a fulfillment of Scripture:

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

If God were their Father, they would love and understand Jesus Christ. Their terms and words would be filled with honor, respect, and humility for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 8:42-44). But blasphemers mimic their father, the devil, who was cast out of heaven thousands of years ago. Unless there is repentance, those who blaspheme God will be prevented from entering heaven:

But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever (Jude 1:10-13).

Blasphemers present a clear and present danger to the spiritual welfare of the believer, as well as those searching for the real Jesus Christ. The damage caused by these men and women to individuals, families, and the cause of Christ is beyond words.

John Bevere & Oral Roberts Promote Doctrines of Demons

Posted by susanb99 on May 8, 2008

In March, I had posted from Slice of Laodicea.com regarding The Source of the Secret DVD, a promotion of The Secret – The Law of Attraction. See the post here.

The Secret was originally written by Esther Hicks by channeling “Abraham”, a group of spirit guides (demons). To harness the power of The Secret, one must think positively, which changes one’s environment and events positively and therefore a person becomes a magnet for “good things”. Anyone can use the method and be successful, without Jesus Christ. The Secret also teaches that a person can become One with the universe. Just the fact that this spiritual process came from demons should keep any Christian away from this material.

The Source of the Secret trailer explains how one can use The Secret, but take it further to the SOURCE of The Secret. Since demons are the ones who “wrote” The Secret, the SOURCE is satan. There are no two ways about it — either a spiritual teaching comes from God, or it comes from satan.

Another version The Source of the Secret trailer with Ron McIntosh, Robb Thompson, Oral Roberts, Brett Fuller, Lynette Lewis, Michael Hammer, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, and Ed Gungor:

Since John Bevere wasn’t mentioned or interviewed in the trailers, I emailed his ministry messengerinternational.org two months ago to find out if he was aware of the promotion. I just now received a response (bolding in original):

Thank you so much for sending us your concern. We’d love to take this opportunity to explain our participation in the Christian project, THE SOURCE OF THE SECRET.

In 2006, THE SECRET, became an international bestselling book and DVD. It was considered by many a testament to the power of the human mind. The teaching of THE SECRET (a repackaging of The Law of Attraction) revealed a spiritual hunger in individuals searching for a better life. The purpose is to encourage individuals to cultivate a positive mental and emotional outlook, though THE SECRET has one significant missing ingredient– it failed to credit the Source and Creator of all the universal laws (including the law of attraction).

With a passion to explain the true source behind THE SECRET, a few Christian leaders (Dr. Rob Thompson, Shad Wehrli and Tom Newman) produced a DVD called THE SOURCE OF THE SECRET intended to take viewers beyond the surface truths of THE SECRET to discover God. Through a combination of interviews with teachers and authors, the purpose of THE SOURCE OF THE SECRET is to introduce people to the Creator of all laws at work in the universe. THE SOURCE OF THE SECRET delves deeper into ideas behind attaining wealth and health, conscious versus sub-conscious, heart versus mind, and gratitude. Interviews feature Oral Roberts, Ron McIntosh, Brett Fuller, Dr. Ken Bakken, Dr. Alex Loyd, Dr. Gene Flood, Ed Gungor, Rev. Kerry Shook, Father John Calbhom, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, Lynette Lewis, Bob Harrison, Charles Mann, Michael Armand Hammer, Brian Klemmer and more.

During my interview on THE SOURCE OF THE SECRET, I had the opportunity to share my passion for Jesus, who is the Source of all life. We thank you for standing for this Truth with us, and we do appreciate your heart for holiness and devotion to the faith of Jesus Christ. It is an honor to have people like you who are supporting the work God is doing at Messenger International.

For His Kingdom,
John & Lisa Bevere
& the Messenger International team

John and Lisa say: “The Source of the Secret is to introduce people to the Creator of all laws at work in the universe.” Unfortunately, the Beveres, et al, are introducing their audience to demon activity, to satan, and the works of the flesh. When one leaves the moorings of the infallible Word of God, this is the result – apostasy. Did Jesus die on the cross and rise again just to placate those who are “searching for a better life”, so we can help them “delve deeper into ideas behind attaining wealth and health”?

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. 1st Timothy 4:1-2

We Are gods

Posted by susanb99 on April 3, 2008

From the new page on Simplicity In Christ.wordpress.com

To those who believe that we are gods, I would like to ask one simple question:

Why was Eve deceived by satan when he said “you shall be as gods” if she was ALREADY a god?

Oral Roberts, John Bevere Featured on New “Secret” DVD

Posted by susanb99 on March 17, 2008

See update May 8, 2008 HERE

March 17, 2008

From SliceofLaodicea.com

I received a promotion today for a new DVD out in June called, The Source of the Secret: Revelations of Faith, Joy & Gratitude. Word-faith teachers like John Bevere, Oral Roberts and several others unite to promote the “Law of Attraction” as taught in the bestselling “The Secret”. Here’s the promotion letter from the agency.

“Following the immense success of Dr. Ben Johnson’s The Secret, GT Media announces the release of the DVD companion, The Source of the Secret, on June 24th. Offering viewers the chance to delve deep into the principles and promise of The Secret, The Source of the Secret goes beyond surface truths to more meaningful revelations. The DVD provides more profound insight into faith and goes beyond the media sound bytes to the substance behind the beliefs. Special features include interviews with the world’s leading and most influential teachers including Dr. Ben Johnson (The Secret), John Bevere and Oral Roberts.”

I have news for them. Oral Roberts has been teaching the principles of the Law of Attraction for decades under different names. Here is the trailer for “The Source of the Secret” DVD, coming out in June. Look at the line-up of supposedly evangelical pastors promoting this stuff.
