Post-Protestant Era? Kenneth Copeland Believes So

Posted by susanb99 on April 15, 2013

UPDATE
Video from Kenneth Copeland Ministers’ Conference on January 21st, 2014

Full video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehFpeVGLyxs

There continues to be a deep chasm between the Protestant doctrinal beliefs and those of Catholics:

Scriptural Salvation/Regeneration: by God’s grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ

RCC Salvation/Regeneration: through the RCC sacrament of baptism

Scriptural Sanctification: by God’s grace through obedience to God via Scripture

RCC Sanctification: good works, merited grace, sacraments (Eucharist, confession, etc); all sanctification is accomplished through RCC

In 1517, when Martin Luther nailed 95 theses to the door of a German church, the Roman Catholic Church did not appreciate his inquiries into their non-biblical religious practices. That was the starting point of the Reformation, a separation of the Protestants from the RCC.

The RCC has been apostate since about the year 300AD. They claim they are the true Church, that no one can be saved except through the Church.

See RCC Salvation chart for more information regarding the RCC’s Salvation Plan

A devout Catholic, Tom Peterson, has created a website, Catholics Come Home (CCH), whose purpose is to bring lapsed Catholics back into the RCC and to lure Protestants into the same snare. After clicking on the door, I Am Not Catholic, the website gives you the option of viewing their apologetics section which answers common questions.

One of the questions on the CCH site is the following:

Why do Catholics call Mary the Queen of Heaven? Doesn’t God rebuke the Israelites in the O.T. for worshipping a false goddess called the Queen of Heaven? Should we not refer to Mary with that title, therefore, since it is the title of a false goddess?

Their answer is:

In Jeremiah 7:18, God is indeed upset with the Israelites for worshipping a false goddess called the “queen of heaven”. However, just because God rebuked them for worshipping the false queen of heaven, doesn’t mean that we cannot pay honor to the true Queen of Heaven…the Blessed Mother.
That type of thinking would lead you to believe that just because people worship a false god that they call “god,” we, therefore, should not call the true God, by that same name…God…because that’s the same title the idolaters use for their god! That is faulty logic and it makes no sense whatsoever.
Again, the fact that there is a false “queen of heaven”, does not lead to the conclusion that we worship a false goddess when we call Mary the “Queen of Heaven.” Just as the fact that there is a false “god”, does not lead to the conclusion that we worship a false god when we call our Father in Heaven, God.
And there is a true Queen of Heaven, we see this quite clearly in Revelation 12:1, “And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars…” Let’s see. There’s a woman…she’s in Heaven…and she has a crown on her head. I could be wrong, but I don’t think it’s the maid! No! It is the true Queen of Heaven, Mary, the mother of the male child who is to rule the nations.
We do not worship Mary, we honor her, just as Jesus honors her. So, there is absolutely nothing wrong, from a scriptural point of view, in calling Mary the Queen of Heaven, and in honoring her just as Jesus honors her.

The Queen of Heaven is a false god. The “true Queen of Heaven” isn’t found anywhere in Scripture. Using the same defective analysis, we could draw the conclusion from IKings 18 that there is a true god of Baal, and the 450 prophets of Baal were mistakenly praying to the false Baal god.

In Revelation, John writes of a “great sign (or portent) in heaven”, of a woman (Mary) who gave birth to a Son (Jesus) Who was not consumed by the red dragon (satan). The Son then was “caught up unto God and to His throne” and the woman ran into the wilderness where she had a place prepared by God. The Son and the woman are not ruling in heaven together. That is a blatant lie fabricated by the RCC to keep its followers enslaved by false gods.

Other questions and answers on the CCH site are similar. The Catholics provide feeble responses to the serious questions that are introduced when comparing the infallibility of Scripture with the RCC traditions and sacraments. The RCC exegesis is analogous to a 10-year-old trying to justify his belief that the earth is flat.

Another way the Roman Catholics are trying to appeal to Protestants is through the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) was started in 1967 by students and faculty members of a Catholic Pittsburgh university.

Some of the Catholics who were initially part of the CCR have been regenerated by the Spirit of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, in direct conflict with the Catholic sacraments of baptism (Catholic salvation) and sanctification. They have left the Roman Catholic Church and its bondage to live their lives in the liberty of Christ.

Many others in the CCR continue to be identified as “Catholic Christians”, an oxymoronic expression that evidences the Protestant Pentecostal’s and Charismatic’s persistent ignorance of incompatible doctrinal beliefs.

Even though it is unmistakably obvious that the RCC beliefs are diametrically contrary to the biblical Protestant doctrines, many Protestants believe that through their efforts, “unity in the spirit” can be realized by means of “the baptism of the Holy Spirit”. But by which “spirit” is this unity achieved? The real Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, the One Who leads us into truth, the One Who convicts sinners of their rebellion to the One true God and draws the sinner to repentance through Jesus Christ. The real Spirit of God does not exist in a person who has not been regenerated by that same Spirit. The Catholic holy spirit continues to bring sinners into the Roman Catholic Church so they may complete the sacramental works of a dead religion.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland support the endeavors of this false spirit. As noted in this post, Tony Palmer is a former director of Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) and has been invited by the RCC to minister to Catholics within the CCR. (See KCM article here) The Copelands have also traveled to the RCC in Italy on more than one occasion to minister. Since the Roman Catholic religion is poles apart from the biblical doctrines of salvation and sanctification, how could they possibly be invited by the RCC to teach the basic tenets of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Anyone who financially supports the Copelands enables the Copeland’s efforts in assisting the RCC to dismantle the effects of the Reformation, with the purpose of ending the “protestant era”.

How will the “protestant era” supposedly “end”? The new pope, Francis I, is a Jesuit, a member of the Society of Jesus founded by Ignatius of Loyola who composed the Spiritual Exercises which are used by the Jesuits to this day. In becoming a Jesuit, all members of the Society of Jesus including Pope Francis, must take the Extreme Oath of Induction. Do not click on the sources of the Extreme Oath if you do not wish to see the graphically vivid wording. Part of the blood oath is posted here:

I furthermore promise and declare that I will, when opportunity present, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Liberals, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth; and that I will spare neither age, sex or condition… (Source 1; Source 2 pages 22-23)

Anyone who is not Roman Catholic is to be “exterminated”. Pope Francis likely will not go to such lengths to remove the Protestants etc., but he absolutely is not pro-unity. He will appear to be so, but beware. He is quoted as saying:

It makes me think that the Paraclete makes all the differences in the Churches and seems to be an apostle of Babel. But, on the other hand, [the Holy Spirit] is the one who makes unity of these differences, not in equality, but in harmony. I remember the Church Father who defined it thus: ‘Ipse harmonia est.’ This Paraclete who gives, to each of us, different gifts, unites us in this Church community that worships the Father, the Son, and Him, the Holy Spirit.”(Source) (bolding added)

The division between the Catholics and Protestants continues to be strong, from the time of the Reformation to this present day. God has irrevocably mandated His plan of salvation and that cannot and will not be changed by man’s whim of “unity in the spirit”.

The Holy Spirit Whirlpool

Posted by susanb99 on April 3, 2013

The Bible clearly states in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 that the Antichrist will be revealed in the last days:

Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition

Who this “son of perdition” is, no one knows. But we do know that many Christians are being deceived, caught up in a fuzzy whirlpool of good feelings, false unity, and muddled spirituality.

Included in this apostate whirlpool is Rick Warren. He recently made it even more clear that he is biblically unhinged when he encouraged Christians to pray for the 115 cardinals, who were selecting the new pope, that they would “seek(ing) God’s will in a new leader”. Do Not Be Surprised has an interesting article about Warren’s support of Catholics Come Home, a Catholic group that uses broadcast media in order to evangelize and inspire inactive Catholics to come back “home”.

Another player in the whirlpool is Kenneth Copeland. His aberrant doctrines include the ransom theory (God sent Jesus in order to reclaim the planet earth from satan) and the prosperity theory (name-it-claim-it). His teachings are quite liberal, although his followers (Charismatics and Pentecostals) would say he’s a conservative. In this article on KCM.org a former KCM director, Tony Palmer, who is involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) and also an official member of a Roman Catholic Ecumenical Delegation for Christian Unity and Reconciliation, is interviewed by BVOV, Believer´s Voice of Victory, Copeland’s magazine. KCM and the Copelands have maintained a strong pro-Catholic partnership with him. Palmer knows the new pope, Francis I, and in fact considers him his spiritual father and prayer partner. Palmer reveals that

…when he (Pope Francis) was introduced during a large Christian meeting in Buenos Aires where over 5,000 evangelical protestant leaders were in attendance, Pope Francis (then Cardinal Bergoglio) knelt down in front of the evangelical pastors and asked them to lay hands on him and bless him! Every year, as Cardinal, he would join his evangelical brothers (pastors) for their annual weeklong retreat—not as a guest speaker to teach, but as one of them… He always tells me that we all need to live like Jesus. It’s all about Jesus!

…During our times together, we have spoken about our shared pain of the division of Christians, and together we have shared both tears and prayers for her healing—the one Bride of Christ

…The time of “spiritual apartheid” is coming to an end, and I believe Pope Francis will be one of the proponents of its demise. We have a worldwide charismatic movement of the renewal of the Holy Spirit within the Catholic Church… We now live in a post-Protestant era with a pope who openly embraces his brothers and sisters of all Christian denominations… Diversity is divine, but division is diabolic. It’s time to celebrate diversity in the bond of unity. We are one Bride, one Body in one Baptism. (emphasis added)

Supposedly the Holy Spirit is the common denominator in bringing the Protestants and Catholics together. Since when does the word of God declare that Christians who are new creatures in Christ Jesus are spiritually compatible with those who reject justification in Christ alone and teach their billion plus followers that salvation is through the Catholic church, the priests and the sacraments? The infallible word of God doesn’t teach any such thing.

Here in Mexico, evangelical missionaries have come in the past to stay with me while they have their Charismatic meetings. (For the record, they no longer stay with me.) A few years ago a missionary couple came back to my house after preaching at a local church service. They told me that there were two women who received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. I responded, “But I know them and they aren’t even Christians!”. The preaching couple didn’t care that they weren’t Christians, they just continued to tell people how “God had moved” in the service and the two women, along with others, had been speaking in tongues. I was quite appalled, but come to find out, Charismatics believe that anyone can be baptized in the Holy Spirit as long as they can “speak in tongues”.

In the Copeland article, Palmer says

Pope Francis is openly supportive of the work of the Holy Spirit and the Charismatic renewal, and in his choosing of Saint Francis’ name, he promises to continue to support what the Holy Spirit has begun.

I see. So as long as the “Holy Spirit” is working in people’s lives, the relationship (or lack of a relationship) with God doesn’t matter. That’s a whirlpool I’d rather not step in.

Beck Rally Set Stage for Christians to Accept Paganism

Glenn Beck Rally Set Stage for “Christians” to Accept Paganism, and Mormons Say Beck Achieved 200 Year Goal of Getting Evangelicals to Declare That Mormons Are Christians

by Brannon S. Howse

www.worldviewweekend.com

I tried to warn evangelical leaders about Glenn Beck’s rallies but most of them laughed at me. Now Satan is the one laughing at them as “Christians” run head-long into embracing non-Biblical theology and call it “Christian”.

Greg West in the Mormon LDS Examiner validates my pre-Beck rally warnings to Evangelical leaders on my radio program, columns, e-mails, and phone conversations. I told them that partnering with Beck in a spiritual enterprise would send the message that Mormons are Christians.

Greg West writes:

As a Mormon, I have to consider an unintended message throughout Beck’s work, which has culminated in this event. That message is: “Mormons are Christian believers.” Despite nearly two centuries of misrepresentation and religious envy by sectarian Christianity, Beck has achieved the visibility, prominence, and has had the time day after day, week after week, to speak openly and truly about his core beliefs. Those statements of faith have disoriented and confused those who had previously believed the lies about Mormons.

Jim Garlow, a popular and influential pastor who partnered with the Mormon faithful in California to defend traditional marriage was quoted recently in CNN’s Belief Blog, saying, “I have interviewed persons who have talked specifically with Glenn about his personal salvation – persons extremely well known in Christianity – and they have affirmed (using language evangelicals understand), ‘Glenn is saved…’ He understands receiving Christ as Savior.”

Hallelujah! The light bulb has been switched on after nearly two centuries! Every single member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that a person must be “born again” and receive Jesus Christ as his Savior and Redeemer. Our holy books teach that salvation comes only in and through the atonement of Christ and that there is no other way a person can be saved…Glenn Beck’s beliefs are mainstream Mormon beliefs. Joseph Smith, the Church’s founder, was a Christian prophet. He was an apostolic witness of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
http://www.examiner.com/lds-church-in-national/glenn-beck-and-the-restoring-honor-rally

Notice that West admits that what Beck has said on his broadcasts about his faith has “disoriented and confused” people who thought that Mormonism was not consistent with Christianity. However, Beck has now convinced them that Mormonism and Christianity are compatible with the help of America’s Christian leaders.

The actor Kirk Cameron is the only one I personally know of that took to heart my pre-Beck rally warnings and reversed himself. Kirk really encouraged me when I needed it by calling to thank me for the column and sharing with me how it helped him understand why he must not take part in Beck’s 8-27 event. Kirk even had the courage to come on my national radio program and speak about this issue publically.

The irony is rather thick. Kirk played “Buck Williams” in the Left Behind Movies. Buck was a famous secular journalist who became a believer and then set out to warn Christians not to accept the demonic spirituality of a one-world religion that was unfolding through national and international figures.

I believe what happen over the weekend was a seismic shift within evangelicalism; an historic event that will go unnoticed by most Christian leaders.  A few leaders may eventually understand the nature of what happen but it will be weeks if not months before they respond. Many of these leaders waited years to provide the defense against Oprah’s pagan spirituality and when they did it was too late for many of the goats within their flock of sheep that had already consumed Oprah’s spiritual poison.

Sadly, most Christian leaders and pastors are completely deficient in understanding the ideas and philosophies that have, and continue, to be the force behind the rushing cultural stream. As a result; the members of their own congregation hear no advanced warning of the coming spiritual undertow nor do they acquire the needed Biblical knowledge that keeps them from being children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, (Ephesians 4:14).

The compromise by evangelical leaders and pastors by spiritually uniting with “all faiths” with the theme of “looking to the one god”, as described by Beck, has laid the foundation for untold numbers of self-professing Christians to now embrace pluralism and pagan spirituality. Pastors and evangelical leaders literally locked arms with all faiths, including Imams, in a spiritual endeavor despite the clear Biblical warnings of II Corinthians 6:14.

The Mormon Church is now rejoicing over the public relations success that these undiscerning evangelical leaders have handed the Mormon Church by uniting with Glenn Beck in the two events that were promoted as spiritual.

I believe that Beck does not only embrace the pagan spirituality of Mormonism but also Cosmic Humanism. Cosmic Humanism is known by most as the New Age Movement. Cosmic Humanism says that man is god. Mormonism says that man can become god. See the similarities? Before you react listen to what Glenn Beck said on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace on the Fox News Channel. Glenn Beck said that his rally was not political and the reason for his rally was because “there’s nothing that we can do that will solve the problems that we have and keep the peace unless we solve it through God, unless we solve it in being our highest self. Be your higher-self.”

Beck used the phrase “higher self” three times in the interview with Chris Wallace.  No one talks that way unless they know exactly what they are saying. One New Age website says:

There are many great words to describe Who or What your highest identity or Self truly is. Below are just a few: Higher Self, I am Presence, I Am That I Am…Cosmic Consciousness, God, Christ, Holy Spirit And the list goes on…

Notice that “I AM that I AM” is another word for “higher self”. Last week on his radio program Beck said, “I Am That I Am is the most powerful phrase in any language as it is the name of god, never use it in vain; use it to create who you want to be. I AM blank.”

I AM is a title that is to be reserved for God Himself. In Exodus 3:13 God told Moses that when the people of Israel ask for My name tell them, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'” In John 8:58 we read, “Jesus said to them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.'”
“I AM” is to be reserved as a title for God yet it is being blasphemed in the pagan practice of what is called “the law of attraction.” In the book The Secret, that was promoted by none other than Oprah Winfrey, Rhonda Byrne wrote:

  • The law of attraction is the law of creation….You create your life through your thoughts.” [p. 15.]
  • There isn’t a single thing that you cannot do with this knowledge. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are, The Secret can give you whatever you want. [P. xi]
  • With this powerful knowledge, you can completely change every circumstance and event in your entire life…” [p. 17]

The fact that people like Beck on the right and Oprah on the left are proclaiming the “I AM” message is a sign that we are living in the last days according to Jesus Himself in Luke 21:7-8:

And they asked Him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? And he said, “Take heed that yet be not deceived: for many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near; go ye not therefore after them.”

Former New Ager, now Biblical Christian, Ray Yungen writes:

Notice, “Christ” is italicized in verse 8, meaning that it was not in the original manuscript. The translators of the King James Bible probably thought it awkward that it said “Many shall come saying, I am.” Probably for the sake of clarity and to be consistent with Mathew 24, the translators added the word “Christ.”

Did you catch that? Jesus was saying that when people say they are god by using the title “I AM” it is a sign that we are living in the end times. We are also told to run away from the people saying “I AM”. Sadly, many of our nation’s pastor’s and Christian leaders did not run from Glenn Beck but ran to join him in a spiritual service and enterprise.

Beck on his radio program last week also declared, “Hell is an eternity of regret not being able to forgive yourself.”  This is a completely unbiblical statement. Nowhere in the Bible do we see instruction to “forgive yourself” because it is impossible. 2 Corinthians 5:15 says, “He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” Verse 17 is what brings me peace since I have repented of my sins and placed by faith and trust in the Jesus of the Bible. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Grace and forgiveness is provided to those who repent and therefore there is no need to believe the lie that you can “forgive yourself” of your sins.

Glenn Beck has accomplished what neither Oprah Winfrey nor Shirley McClain could. I believe that Beck used his conservative veneer and doublespeak to co-opt leaders of the religious right. Beck and these evangelical leaders have sent the message that it is acceptable for millions of “Christians” to embrace humanistic spirituality and paganism for the purpose of social activism and social change. These pastors should re-read Luke 17:2 where we read; “It  would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”

Beck has set the stage for “conservatives” to accept a one-world religion and numerous leaders of the religious right pulled the ropes that raised the curtain on this ecumenical stage. Christian leaders that should have known better nodded in agreement and provided the backdrop as Beck preached his sermon of pluralism and universalism on 8-27 and 8-28.

Perhaps sooner, rather than latter, the world will be in massive economic, political, and spiritual chaos and a leader will step on to the world stage and this anti-Christ will call for the religions of the world to unite and embrace spirituality. He will declare that he is not about politics but about bringing peace, unity, faith, hope, charity, stability, freedom, and prosperity under the common god of all religions. This world leader will perform counterfeit miracles signs and wonders and those who reject Biblical truth will follow him [2 Thessalonians 2:9-12] and embrace his plan for restoring honor.

If I had told you five years ago that a “conservative” radio and TV personality would have millions of viewers, would talk about the spiritual battle being waged in America, would be a self-confessed member of a cult, would quote New Age phrases, would call for Christians and conservatives to look to the “one god”, would seek to unite all faiths and would convince dozens of evangelical pastors and leaders to support him in a spiritual service-you would say I was writing fiction and that this would never happen.

Do you now understand the magnitude of the spiritual shift that occurred this past weekend? The millions that see nothing wrong with the messages of Beck’s 8-27 and 8-28 rallies reveal that the religious left and the religious right will be easily merged  together in the coming one world religion under the coming one-world spiritual leader as prophesied in Revelation 17:8.

Ephesians 5:11 commands all Christians to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” That is exactly what we have done and will continue to do in spite of e-mails and voice messages that are filled with cursing and insults. Our response must simply be, “Have I become your enemy because I tell you the truth?” [Galatians 4:16]

Mark Chironna: Jesus Was CREATED

Posted by susanb99 on July 23, 2010

In this video, Mark Chironna (New Ager, life coach, motivational speaker, TBN host) claims that Jesus was spoken into existence by God the Father. He did not exist as God in the beginning. Scripture contradicts Chironna in the 1st Chapter of John

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. … And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us

Luke 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Chironna teaches a different Jesus, a motivational Jesus, an emotional Jesus who makes one “feel good”. Chironna’s Jesus has absolutely no power; it is a false god.

Do Not Be Deceived.

Rick Warren Supports Metaphysical, New Age “Gospel”

Posted by susanb99 on July 7, 2010

Rick Warren has written the foreword of a new book coming out in October entitled “Driven by Destiny” by Dr. LaVerne Adams, which Reveals 12 Secret Keys to Transform the Future.

From the book’s website http://www.drivenbydestinynow.com/

This dynamic journey to transformation will get on the right road to fulfilling your destiny and cause you to be fully engaged in this dynamic process.

This destiny roadmap is your vehicle to a better life to help you to:

DIALOGUE with the Creator about your divine purpose

DEVELOP new disciplines to help you live the life of your dreams

There is no need to wait! Start today and cross the bridge to a dynamic future as you chart a new course. Activate the keys found in this book and you’ll discover the secret to living a life Driven by Destiny!

Sound familiar? This could be taken from Warren’s sermons and Purpose Driven Life book. The material is rehashed metaphysical, New Age psycho-babble that is disguised as “Christian” because “divine” is mentioned. God or Jesus Christ are not part of this “metaphorical journey”.

There is not even a slight mention of Jesus Christ and His atonement for sins on the cross. Not a word in the fluff piece of Jesus Christ as the ONLY Way to the One True God. Not even a reference to God. I don’t know if Ms Adams is a Christian (probably not considering the rotten fruit coming from her pen), but Mr. Rick Warren (and Mr. John Piper) has a lot of explaining to do.

John Piper invited Warren to his Desiring God conference this year. In this video Piper said he was on the phone with Warren and wrote down what Warren says about the Gospel of Jesus Christ:

The Bible is totally inerrant and valuable in every way
Penal substitution is of the essence of the Gospel
God is sovereign and central over all
People are lost; they’re going to hell. I (Warren) am not a universalist; I am an evangelist
The office of women elders and pastors – the Bible says it shouldn’t happen, I’m committed to the Bible, therefore we’re not going to go there.
Repentance – I totally believe in the necessity of repentance and I totally am committed to the call for repentance, though I may not use the word as often as some would want me to.
Emergent Church – I am not emergent

Ms. Adams is a pastor as you can see on this website. What happened to Warren’s assurances to Piper that “the Bible says it shouldn’t happen, I’m committed to the Bible, therefore we’re not going to go there“? Obviously Warren could care less that Adams is a pastor or what her beliefs are. Is he only trying to get his name in as many publications as possible?

And what about Piper? What’s his excuse for promoting Warren who is does not believe that “penal substituion is of the essence of the Gospel“? Warren actions clearly show his proclivity toward New Age beliefs, NOT inerrant scriptural doctrine.

May Day Prayers – What Repentance?

Posted by susanb99 on April 28, 2010

The following article is from Herescope / Discernment Research Group which reveals the esoteric theology behind the New Apostolic Reformation, a group of self-named “apostles” who plan to take dominion over the Tea Party Movement and eventually the world:

An excerpt of the article:

Folks, wake up! These people are the self-appointed, self-anointed “apostles” – global leaders of an aberrant cult called Latter Rain, which they renamed the New Apostolic Reformation.[9] These are the same “prophets” that brought you the Toronto and Pensacola drunken-laughing revivals where people barked like dogs, writhed in birthing pains, and worse.[10] This is the same crowd that brought us Todd Bentley in Lakeland, Florida, now disgraced by flagrant sins, whom they are still trying to spiff up.[11] These are the same leaders who propped up Ted Haggard. Worse, these are the same NAR “apostles” who are trying to create a “Joel’s Army.” Follow the links in this article and the two previous Herescope posts on this topic! And then ask, are these the type of “respectable leaders” we want praying prayers of repentance on behalf of the American church!?

May Day Prayers

What Repentance?

“I AM brooding over many areas in the earth – government, economic and spiritual structures – and changing the structures of how these systems have operated in past seasons….
“There are sounds that are flowing through your blood. There are sounds that I am rearranging in the bloodlines of nations. Get in step with My harmony and the earth. I AM shaking nations into MY next order.”
–Chuck Pierce[1]

It is the dominion activity of the church, especially relative to Israel, that creates the kairos moment of His return. Taking dominion of the earth should be the object of the church’s obsession.
— Mark Pfeifer[2]

One of the most amazing aspects of the May Day event, planned in Washington, D.C. at the Lincoln Memorial on May 1, 2010, is its Official Program stating the “Prayers of Repentance for the Seven Mountains of Culture.”[3] Many good-intentioned believers are being led into this event because they support its conservative political ideologies and moral overtones. They support Israel and they are against abortion. But do these folks also support the Seven Mountains of Culture Mandate? And are they fully in agreement with the esoteric theology of these spiritual warfare prayers and the Dominionist goals of the NAR leaders of the May Day event?

This May Day prayer event is linked in many ways with the Global Day of Prayer (GDOP) that was launched five years ago in 2005. Ostensibly a group prayer event, the GDOP was in fact a not-so-subtle way to introduce the wacky, esoteric and heretical doctrines of the New Apostolic Reformation[4] to the rest of the world, compliments of a global satellite hookup. Discernment Ministries wrote extensively about the GDOP in two key reports posted here and here.[5] Rick Warren launched his “2nd Reformation” in connection with this GDOP prayer event, and we commented at the time that

The Global Day of Prayer appears to be a chief mechanism for launching a “Second Reformation” in Christianity. The GDOP provides a convenient vehicle to transition the church from the old order to a new global order. Rick Warren is quoted as saying at the Global Day of Prayer event, “The first Reformation was about belief; this one’s going to be about behavior.”[6]

The scripted prayers for the Global Day of Prayer are similar to the suggested prayers of the May Day event. Both call for a transformation in the “spheres” (otherwise known as “mountains”) of culture, and both call for a Christian cultural mandate.[7] In 2005 we analyzed these types of prayers and summarized the goals:

The dominionists teach that restoration occurs as believers serve as stewards of this world, taking back what belongs to God. Believers are to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth and enforce the dominion and authority of heaven upon everything evil. The spheres are a way to channel this mandate.[7]

This May Day event is connected to the GDOP because the prayer leaders of the May Day event are interconnected with the same leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation that brought us the GDOP. The Official Program indicates that the May Day schedule at 9 A.M. launches prayers of “Repentance for the Mountain of Religion” and for the “The Church,” given by Dutch Sheets, Chuck Pierce and Cindy Jacobs, among others. These false “apostles” are connected with C. Peter Wagner and his International Coalition of Apostles, who believe they have a Dominion mandate on earth.

Furthermore, the “Prayers of Repentance for the Seven Mountains of Culture” in the Official Program for the event indicates that these prayers are based on a recently-concocted theology called IDENTIFICATIONAL REPENTANCE.[12] We wrote extensively about this theology in a Herescope post on August 10, 2007, where we referred to it as a key tenet of Dominionism. In our report, we noted that this prayer warfare is based on the idea that a believer must repent for others’ sins, including those sins done in the past by ancestors and/or those sins done corporately by a nation or group. Al Dager, in his book The World Christian Movement (Sword 2001) presents a short synopsis:

“The idea of identificational repentance is to stand in the gap as a substitute for a corporate people in order to nullify so-called ‘generational curses.’

“In essence, it is to identify oneself with a corporate group of people to confess that group’s social sins (e.g., I’m a white man who killed an Indian and stole his land). This is the basis of the Reconciliation Movement.” (p. 125)[13]

How did this particular heresy come about? We explained its history:

C. Peter Wagner, chief “apostle” of the New Apostolic Reformation, lists “Identificational Repentance” as one of the “10 Major Prayer Innovations of the 1990s,” which includes “Strategic-level spiritual warfare,” “Prayer evangelism,” “On-site praying,” “City transformation,” “Commitment to the land,” and “Spiritual mapping,” among others. This list is basically a compilation of the new prayer-warfare doctrines that were promulgated during the 1990s….

C. Peter Wagner cites “Identificational Repentance” as one of the key “New Spiritual Weapons” for advancing the Kingdom of God on earth. In other words, “identificational repentance” is a useful tool for Dominionism. Wagner believes that in these last days “God has provided the Body of Christ with some new spiritual weapons which will help us penetrate the darkest realms of the Enemy.” Undergirding Wagner’s ideas about spiritual warfare is the erroneous doctrine that Jesus’ work was not finished at the Cross, and that Jesus “has delegated His Church to continue the [war against Satan]” here on earth. Another key component of this new doctrine is the idea of “Corporate Sin.” A corollary heresy teaches that nations are entities (beings) that can corporately experience salvation, and a related heresy teaches that the land itself is spiritual and in need of redemption. These heresies can be found in various traditions of pagan mysticism, but they are not biblical.[14]

The May Day crowds will be praying to “Invite God back into” our land. And they will be confessing the corporate sins of America. But are these people who will be standing at the Lincoln Memorial that day truly guilty of these sins they will be confessing? Probably not! The real sinners won’t be standing there confessing their sins. And that is the problem with Identificational Repentance. This faulty group-prayer theology is based on the idea that the church can transform or redeem the culture, but it does not teach the simplicity of preaching the Gospel of Salvation. Rather it attempts by political action and/or psycho-social means to change the worldview of a secular or pagan society and shape it into a so-called Christian culture. As we summarized it in one post:

Make no mistake about it: the “cultural mandate” to “redeem cultures” (or whatever other terminology is used) is a re-work of the old “Social Gospel” movement of the 20th Century.[15]

There are additional concerns about the prayer theology undergirding this event. Note this webpage: http://www.mayday2010.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=59. Here we learn that “Deborah Fritch, Lite the Fire Ministries; Becca Greenwood, Christian Harvest Int’l and Melinda Richardson, Kingdom Concepts are co-chairing the prayer committee for this gathering.” Who are these women and why have they been put in charge of the May Day prayers? One can visit their websites and learn about their controversial theologies and ministries, which are obviously very enmeshed with the agenda of the NAR:

  • Deborah Fritch of Lite the Fire http://www.litethefire.org/. Her e-mail is given as the key contact person for praying for May Day prayer support. Her ministry is committed to seeing the “Torch” of non-stop prayer go into every sphere of society (mountain) as part of its work on the “Seven Mountains Strategy,”[16] and says its role is “we are here to connect God’s army together.”[17]
  • Becca Greenwood of Christian Harvest International has written a book Destined To Rule: Spiritual Stragies for Advancing the Kingdom of God which is plugged as “Discover your right as Christ’s ambassador to exert power over the enemy and usher forth spiritual & social transformation.”[18]
  • “Prophetess” Melinda Richardson heads up Kingdom Concepts http://kingdomconceptsinc.net which is linked with Chuck Pierce’s Glory of Zion,[19] and believes in his brand of “declaring and decreeing” type of spiritual warfare prayer.[20]

The May Day event, like the Global Day of Prayer, uses a format of scripted public prayers that contain doctrinal messages embedded in them. While one might agree with some of the prayers, other prayers are mixed in that contain the new doctrines of the New Apostolic Reformation. Can you spot the heresies behind these prayers? Are you able to agree with the beliefs of these NAR prayer agents? Will you have the discernment to recognize the prayer language of apostolic Dominionism, even when it comes in the guise of fervent patriotism? We urge those who are supporting this event to carefully investigate our past two reports here and here in light of today’s post. It isn’t too late to withdraw your support of this controversial event. Further reading on this topic is suggested below the footnotes.

The Truth:

The sad fact is that great opportunities to present the message of the Gospel of Salvation are being lost. Precious time is being wasted on these esoteric prayer shenanigans, while those who need to hear the message of the Cross are dying in their sins. Those who truly need to hear a message of repentance, salvation, and hope aren’t being witnessed to. Discipleship isn’t happening. Rather, all of these prayer antics and hullabaloos, decrees and declarations, marches and meditations, and covenants and manifestos are clogging up the works, taking up precious time and resources of the church, and fooling people into thinking they are doing something “spiritual.” It is a false gospel that preaches that the culture/nation can be changed rather than focusing on the lost who will perish in Hell if they do not repent.

The message of Jesus is salvation, and this message is for the individual believer. It is only by ministering the WORD and the preaching the message of the Gospel of Salvation, of Christ’s atoning death for our sins on the cross, that we will reach those who are perishing. And when the lost are truly saved and born again, their lives will change, and this is when the miracles begin to happen, and when the culture around them begins to be positively impacted by the salt and light of their changed lives.

“They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” (1 John 4:5-6)

Rick Warren’s Part in the Harvest Crusade (Chuck Smith / Calvary Chapel)

Posted by susanb99 on August 22, 2009

At Calvary Chapel’s 20-year anniversary Harvest Crusade (8/16/09), Chuck Smith, founder of Calvary Chapel, introduced Rick Warren as “my good friend who pastors Saddleback Church” and asked him to lead in prayer (see transcript of prayer at end of post).

Full video:
http://www.harvest.org/crusades/2009/anaheim/webcast/player.php?id=136

In 2006, Chuck Smith denounced the teachings of Rick Warren. http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/recall.htm

The teachings and positions of Rick Warren have come into conflict with us at Calvary Chapel. Pastor Chuck has directed us to discontinue this product [Purpose Driven Life] effective immediately.

So what has happened behind the scenes in the last 3 years? Apparently, a lot. The fact that Smith can say “my good friend” in public ministry after stating that his good friend’s teachings are in conflict with Smith’s beliefs, is extremely suspicious. I am not a Calvary Chapel member, but I would never trust anyone who does such an obvious spiritual back-flip.

Chuck Smith’s response to a caller on the next day’s Pastor’s Perspective radio show: [K-WAVE.org click on Podcasts, then 8/17/09]

Caller’s (John’s) Question: Should pastors share a platform at an evangelical event with someone who typifies the Emergent Church, a minister?

Smith: [chuckle] That’s difficult, John, because, you know, you might say in a sense that last night I was on the platform with a minister that they say that he is a part of the Emergent Church, that he has, you know, sort of a different emphasis in his ministry, more of a social emphasis on what the church should be doing socially for people rather than the spiritual emphasis, and so I was on the platform with him but, you know, I think that it would be divisive. Now the man, I’m convinced, loves the Lord, has a large church, and is, you know, feels that he is called of God to really deal with the social problems of our world today. Now it could be that God IS calling him to that, but that isn’t why God has called ME to do and so, but I can still look at him as a brother in Christ – he believes that Jesus died for our sins and he just has a different emphsis as far as what he feels should be the priority of the church today..
We were both invited to be there but we were on the platform together, sat next to each other, and he is a brother in Christ, and so I didn’t really have any real problem with sharing, being on the same program together with him.

According to scripture, the spiritual emphasis is everything. There isn’t a secondary “emphasis” that someone can pick and choose to focus on. Warren is apostate and unfortunately Smith won’t call him on it because he doesn’t want to be “divisive”.

*********************

Rick Warren’s prayer:

Father, I want to thank You that every person here tonight is here because You wanted them to be here, because You never made a person You didn’t love, You never made a person You didn’t have a purpose for, You never made a person that Jesus didn’t die for. And I ask You tonight every person here will see a clear picture of Jesus, what He can do in their lives. Father, there are people here tonight who are confused. Would You help them realize that Jesus is the Truth. And I’m sure there are many people here tonight that feel guilty and ashamed, maybe about their past. Help them to experience the freedom of forgiveness so they can start over with You, a new life.

Lord, we know that there are probably some people who have a tough week, or a tough month, or a tough life, or maybe they’ve been out of work for six months and they’re feeling discouraged and depressed. I ask You to help them to experience the joy of salvation. Lord, there are other people here who are worried and are anxious and are stressed out about the future and about their job. Help them to discover the peace that passes all understanding.

And Father, tonight all of us who know you and are Your children we pray that there will not be a single person exiting this stadium tonight that doesn’t know You. Thank You that You know everything about us and You still love us. And our prayer is that every one of them here tonight who don’t know You will accept You into their heart. Jesus, only You can make the changes that we want to see in our lives. Only You can restore our loneliness and relieve it and heal our past. Only You can give meaning and purpose and only You can give us a home in heaven.

So Father, I ask that You speak through Greg again tonight as You have every night for 20 years. Speak through him with clarity, with simplicity and with power. Anoint his words so that they’re like arrows piercing our hearts all the way into the furthest seats. We thank You in advance what You’re going to do in lives tonight. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

T D Jakes’ Inclusionist Agenda

Posted by susanb99 on May 21, 2009

Jakes is unable to answer a simple question: Is Jesus the Only Way to God? Scripture is very clear on that belief, which is the founding doctrine of Christianity. John 14:6, 1st Timothy 2:5

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also]. 1st John 2:22-23

John Crowder says:

Our New Ecstatics event exploded with the Glory of God in Santa Cruz, California, and God has shifted more than our ministry itineraries … He has redirected our entire lives! We are happy to announce that we are moving to California and will continue the party with monthly meetings in Santa Cruz, as we are seeing a massive, ecstatic revival taking place! (Online Source)
