Apostate Evangelists & Teachers

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2nd Corinthians 11:13-14

Ravi Zacharias: An Apologist’s Slide Into False Doctrine

Posted by susanb99 on September 28, 2008

An apologist: one who speaks or writes in defense of a faith, a cause, or an institution; especially, one who argues in defense of Christianity (dictionary.com).

Ravi Zacharias has been a well-known Christian apologist for many years. His teachings and books have been edifying and encouraging for many Christians. Unfortunately,  Mr. Zacharias has fallen to the philosophy of man’s wisdom, the beliefs that tickle the ears of those who shun sound doctrine. In this YouTube video, he is asked a simple question:

Is it possible for a man or a woman to live a sincere Christian life as a homosexual?

The Answer: …it’s a very sincere question; it’s a very tough one!

Mr. Zacharias is supposed to be an apologist. Why is this question “tough“? He says: “We renounce our dispositions” [homosexual inclinations]. According to scripture, as a good apologist knows, it’s called SIN, not “dispositions”. He gives absolutely no scriptural backup for what he says. None at all.

Instead he gives a muddled answer using the example of Catholic mystic/contemplative Henri Nouwen‘s homosexuality, which Nouwen supposedly didn’t act on, so is that supposed to absolve Nouwen of his sin? Zacharias considers him “one of the greatest saints of recent memory” (6:05 in the video), which is totally impossible since Nouwen did not believe Jesus is the Only Way to God. By making such a statement, Zacharias is renouncing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and laying the groundwork for ANYONE to be a “saint” or Christian by deceit, not through Jesus Christ alone.

Ravi Zacharias’ apologetics are based on false doctrine, not on the inerrant, infallible Word of God.
